Project description

Guille Frank is a solo project of latin contemporary folk from Guadalajara, built around a premise: music that disguises pain as epic.

The songs start from a place of intimacy and build from there through a layered sound architecture: piano, strings, violas, synthesizers, bass, and electronic elements that appear, disappear, and evolve until the climax.

The production is designed to reward repeated listening: reverb-drenched backing vocals, strings in the background, sustained piano lines that never break, and arrangements that gradually transform the song.

The The voice remains the central focus: intimate and controlled during intimate moments, yet capable of handling larger-scale productions.

It's a project that could grow into an orchestral production, but You can always go back to just a voice and a guitar.

Brief History

Guille Frank is Guillermo Franco, an independent musician, composer and producer from Guadalajara.

He began by drawing. Then he discovered that music could tell what paper could not reach. Since 2019 he has built a project of his own - going through losses, restarts and learning - with a single clear direction: to transform what we have experienced into songs.

In 2022, the project was restarted from scratch. What exists today is the result of this process: its own catalog, a defined identity and a proposal that grows with each launch.

Guille Frank is not nostalgia. It's what's coming.

Artistic positioning

Guille Frank is part of a new generation of Mexican singer-songwriters, but he builds his artistic vision around one specific characteristic: the evolution of the sound within the song itself.

While much of contemporary folk draws its strength from minimalism, Guille Frank uses that same intimacy as a starting point to build toward increasingly larger-scale productions.

Honey Girl It shows this in a single song:

1:25 — The chorus kicks off the track: bass with slides, bass drum, synth, piano, and layered vocals.

2:15 — The vocals take a back seat to a violin solo throughout the entire production.

3:24 — Three violas gradually come in until they are the only ones playing at the end.

A song can begin with a voice. It can end like a movie.

Folk music with architecture.

COMPLETE AUTOBIOGRAPHY

The birth of Guille Frank arises from the deep desire to live art. Before music, there were drawings: landscapes, characters and forms that sought answers where words could not reach.

With time I discovered that music could express what paper could not. I started with electronic tracks -what I had at hand then- and later came the guitar, the piano and a voice that does not seek to be perfect, but honest.

In 2019 I released my first homemade remix: Once Upon a Time (GuilleFranky Beats). It was simple and experimental, but it marked the beginning of GuilleFranky, the name under which I took my first musical steps. Over the years, that name stopped representing me. I started writing my own songs, recording covers and working on my voice. That's how my first single was born: Love and Happiness.

My music began to reflect what I was going through: the loss of a grandfather who was like a father, the confinement of the pandemic, relationships that left marks and excesses that taught me to recognize my own limits. There were aimless nights, days of giving up important things. Even so, music was the thread that sustained me.

I left GuilleFranky behind because it sounded like a passing pseudonym. Guille Frank is closer to who I am: Guillermo Franco.

Losing my father forced me to move forward in spite of everything. In that process I found strength in a word that had been with me since before: Determination. It wasn't born out of that moment, but it always reminded me of the importance of standing firm when everything seems to break.

In 2022 the project went through a complete restart. It was not a pause - it was rebuilding from scratch: catalog, identity, production and stage presence. Everything that exists today about Guille Frank was born after that moment.

Today I continue with a technology business that has given me stability and clarity. I know what I want to do.

Guille Frank is not only a musical project: it is the way in which I transform my experiences into songs and my beginnings into purpose.
