Story

Guille Frank

I learned everything.

I was born and raised in Guadalajara.

My two grandfathers and my dad taught me a bit of everything: carpentry, technology, mechanics, masonry, blacksmithing.

My dad is the reason I got into technology.

I learned everything.
I learned everything.
I learned everything.
I learned everything.
I learned everything.
I learned everything.

I wanted to make video games.

I loved the video games Halo, The Legend of Zelda and Undertale. From Halo I kept the soundtrack; from Zelda, the soundtrack and the story. Undertale has both.

But playing them was not enough: I wanted to make my own. Between 2012 and 2019 I made quite a few in Unity 3D, a program for building video games, just to entertain the family.

I wanted to make video games.

There was always music.

For as long as I can remember. I listened to songs on an old Sony Ericsson, at full volume, and I sang terribly. They told me to be quiet.

I sang Ed Sheeran songs in secret.

In elementary school I had an iPad and a piano app. I used the automatic mode to learn songs, all by ear, with no theory.

I liked everything.

Rock, Latin rock, English-language pop. Almost all in English.

Arctic Monkeys, Maná, Porta, Soda Stereo, Caifanes, Café Tacvba, Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons, Twenty One Pilots.

Today I lock myself into very specific genres, but I used to like everything.

The dear piano.

In middle school my maternal grandfather gave me the piano. I did not make music with it, but I liked playing around with it.

Later I took it up to learn music theory, and I also developed as a violinist. I loved violins, and from FL Studio I started making melodies with them.

The dear piano.

At first I did not want it.

The guitar is what everybody plays and I did not want to be just another one.

The first one I had was a red one, scribbled on, that shows up in some photos. I watched my cousin Eduardo sing Maná songs with it.

In time I ended up playing it.

At first I did not want it.

2018

I changed course.

At 15 I changed school and home, to a smaller high school more focused on its students.

Because of a failed semester I lost the 2017–2018 school year. 2018 was an essential change in who I am.

There I developed very well: I built technology projects and prototypes that made me popular at school.

2019

My first remix.

I went back to FL Studio and made my first remixes. I put out a homemade one: Undertale – Once Upon a Time, signed as GuilleFranky.

I also started writing stories based on what I had lived.

Everything else started there.

I learned to sing.

In early 2020 I picked up the guitar and started playing songs by the hit musicians of the time. I played just to play.

In time I learned to sing.

It was the year of the pandemic: the lockdown, the uncertainty.

I learned to sing.

Siempre estaré aquí para ti.

That year my maternal grandfather died. It was my first loss that close.

Before New Year, inside the bathroom, I wrote “Siempre estaré aquí para ti”. A simple goodbye.

Years later, that would become the name of SEAPT.

Make your own music.

I was posting covers. Ed Maverick’s manager told me plainly: make your own music, not just covers, stand out.

I wrote “Adiós y Felicidad”, the song that made me decide to release my own work. Then came “Volver Amar” and “Ladrona”.

I finished high school, started working, and wrote and wrote.

Guille Frank is me.

It comes from my family: “Frankyto”, after our last name, Franco. Guille, because I like being called Guille. Fans, promoters and producers call me Gui.

GuilleFranky was a name. Guille Frank has always existed, because it is me.

Guille Frank is me.
Guille Frank is me.

I fell apart.

I wrote “Imagina”, “Niña Miel” and “No Quiero”. I did not feel in control of the project, even though there were already people who believed in it.

My brother-in-law, my niece’s father, took his own life. A month later my father was disappeared and I fell apart.

Still, I kept going.

I fell apart.

Keep going.

I was exhausted and afraid. I founded my business, the first clients came, and I kept going.

The GuilleFranky name came to an end. I lost access to things and learned a lot the hard way.

I did not play the guitar again until the end of 2024.

SEAPT brings together the singles I released when I was GuilleFranky. I plan to re-release them with more production.

Back to the guitar.

In late 2024 I listened to Kevin Kaarl again and picked the guitar back up. I started writing.

We played a few small gigs. I worked and worked on my business. It inspired me.

I was not sad anymore. I learned to love myself.

Back to the guitar.
2025

Outside the concerts.

Ultra Sodade came out. I went as a fan to see Ed Maverick and Kevin Kaarl.

I played outside, and ended up drawing hundreds of people.

I kept posting content, but with no direction. At the end of the year I decided to take on 2026 with a clear strategy: play on stages, have a visual identity and help more artists grow.

Outside the concerts.

Few, but very close.

My Instagram account is new. I was not afraid of it; I just had no clear direction.

I do not have that many followers, but I do have very close fans.

I want to grow and keep going.

Few, but very close.
2026

This year.

I graduated and formally set up my company. I still run the technology company I built, and it gives me stability.

On February 28 I played my first concert: 35 people, half the capacity.

I took Guille Frank as something serious: I have to give it shape, and I know it will work.

The De Miel universe.

De Miel is part of my story: the five stages of grief.

Niña Miel and Sin Amor Propio are parts of this real stage.

Sin Amor Propio comes out on November 6.

There are people close.

Reverberante believes in me. So does La Semilla MGMT, from Spain.

Alonso, Kevin Kaarl’s manager, was one of the few who gave me close feedback. Knowing who he was motivated me even more.

And there are the people close to the project, and several people at Groover and Ones To Watch.

A lot you do not see.

It is all the effort behind it.

I have played several shows over the years. Playing is expressing.

I do not have all the dates: my father was the one who kept track of that and took the photos and videos.

Guille Frank · A lot you do not see.

A concrete goal.

I made the Kevin Kaarl tribute to have a concrete goal and build around it. To get people talking about Guille Frank and to see how capable I am.

It was set for November 8, but it clashed with the real Kevin. We moved it to the 27th.

I built it with a band: family musicians and local musicians I believe in.

Guille Frank · A concrete goal.

I want to help more artists.

I know what it costs to start without backing.

I know marketing and I founded a label, Franklore, to help local artists and push Guadalajara’s music.

“Sin Amor Propio” comes on November 6; the Kevin Kaarl tribute on the 27th; and De Miel. And more things.

And I want to be a known artist, and for people to know my songs.

I want to help more artists.

The rest is still being written.
